EMERYVILLE — A man shot in his car Monday afternoon managed to drive several blocks into Oakland before crashing into a pole and dying, police said.
An Oakland police officer saw the car crash in the 3400 block of San Pablo Avenue around 4:30 p.m., officials said. The man had multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.
Emeryville police were called in when Oakland officers later learned the man had been shot near the corner for Adeline Street and Yerba Buena Avenue, about a quarter-mile away.
Two men were seen fleeing the scene of the shooting, getting into a white four-door sedan, according to Emeryville police.
The homicide is being investigated by Emeryville police.
The victim’s name has not yet been released, pending notification of his relatives.
