There are still tickets available for Sunday’s fundraiser for missing Fremont boy Hasanni Campbell.
To keep his name in the news and raise money for search efforts, organizers are planning a fundraising dinner from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Garre Vineyard and Winery, 7986 Tesla Road in Livermore.
The boy, now 6, was reported missing Aug. 10 from the rear driveway of Shuz of Rockridge, where his foster father, Louis Ross, 38, has said he left the boy alone while he went to the front of the store to alert Jennifer Campbell, the boy’s 30-year-old foster mother and aunt, that he had arrived to drop off Hasanni and the boy’s 1-year-old sister. Hasanni has not been seen since.
Sherri Miller, the 40-year-old San Leandro woman who has been heading searches and organizing monthly vigils, planned the roast beef and chicken dinner at the winery. She is expecting about 150 people for the four-course, $30-a-plate dinner but would like to sell more tickets, she said.
There will be entertainment from the Rave Ups, Marc Ovalle, Kelly Lynn Flynn and Ira Walker, she added, and acoustic performers during dinner.
John Winn from Winn Volkswagen in Fremont is donating at least $5,000 to the search fund, he said.
The event will include a prize drawing. Winn donated two San Francisco 49ers jerseys to the cause, he said. “I’m trying to do something nice and get everyone involved,” he said.
